This Is My Stop
This Is My Stop
There’s a line in one of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite artists that says something like, “not everyone who is in your life is meant to be there forever.”
And that may sound bitter, particularly if you are the person that is not there forever, but it need not be.
Another way of saying this would be “if you love something, let it go.”
I feel it is our purpose to be the best version of ourselves that we can be for those around us. I hope by doing this we are positive influence on those around us and even if we do not go forward with them in life the good we do will.
And we experience this all the time, do we not? Good teachers, good coworkers, helpful strangers in foreign cities. They are only in our lives for a short time but the impact is substantial.
Recently I find myself, again, in the situation of being the person who watches another move on. This is not something so final as a child leaving school or a friend moving to another country. However it is a situation where our connection has/will transform and our relationship is changed.
This, is a good thing. Our relationship has changed because they have become a better person, a person that no longer needs me as they did because of the support I have given like a probationary member I trained to be an independent and equal part of the team.
It is also a sad thing, what was is gone, the comfort in that has faded away. So I mourn it. However what is to come will be much better for them and if I’m lucky we’ll join paths in the future and teach me things that I need to learn.
So that is my wisdom my friends. Sometimes we are in a life for a moment, but if you have improved it, be thankful for that moment.
Take care my dear readers and God bless;
