The Man Of Tomorrow
This may be a bit of a stray for me but for those who do not know I’m a large consumer of comic books and super hero media. And more importantly I love these characters, I love those stories and yes in a few years you’ll see some super hero stories from me too but that’s a teaser for another day.
Today; Superman.
Or rather WHY is Superman the “man of tomorrow”?
Morality and power. And the important part is that it’s both. Morality without strength is impotence. Strength without morality is tyranny. Morality and strength is benevolence.
And I think THAT was meant, that’s the meaning behind the “man of tomorrow” idea. Not just that he was powerful, intelligent and capable. All things we pray humanity will be in the following ages. But that he is moral, that he is just, that he is kind.
The man of tomorrow, the humanity of tomorrow, will have the power to shatter the world, the intellect to know not to and the kindness to bend its incredible talents to the support and uplifting of all around them. Most especially those least able to help themselves.
That’s why Superman, when written right, is an inspiration. He is the goal.
A goal I hope we never stop striving for.
Intellect.
Strength.
And above all else, kindness.
