Sand And Coffee
Sand And Coffee
There is an old story about a college professor and jars of rocks, and sand. It goes something about using the rocks to represent major responsibilities, stones for minor, and sand for all the little things and pouring it all into one jar until it’s full. Then the professor pours one cup of coffee into the jar to show, “there is always time for coffee with a friend.”
I’m sure that story is made up, but it’s no less true, no less important. Friends real friends are more than the “things” done but they provide a strength simply by their presence. And though it may seem small, and insignificant don’t underestimate the power of a cup of coffee with a friend.
I am doing that now myself. Well OK it’s more than coffee and it’s a bit out of the way since I had to hop a few states to do it but the reward for me, and I hope for them makes the trip more than worth it.
Recent years have taught me the value of human experience and how fleeting they are. So this letter is a simple reminder to make time for your friends, to be the friend people want to make time for and that Life is too fleeting to live these precious moments without our friends.
I hope this missive finds you well my dear readers. Thank you and God bless;
