Reflections On A Month Gone By

So today, is November 30th, end of November (I never can remember which months have 30 days without checking) and last day of NaNoWriMo.

Now I didn’t REALLY participate in Nano, not with the goal of creating a novel at least.

But that doesn’t mean I didn’t write, and certainly doesn’t mean I haven’t learned anything over the month.

Much of it was stuff I already knew but needed to keep doing, keep internalizing. It’s easy to say to yourself “keep writing, keep exercising, keep eating healthy, etc.” Much harder to live it.

I’ll probably be relearning that lesson until I’m dust.

I also learned, or I suppose learned again, the incalculable value of a writers group. If you’re a writer, get one of these, it’s magic.

Not just in editing, proof reading and etc, but in thinking, in opening my mind to wider perspectives and encouraging me to delve deeper into my own works to create of them something far more perfected.

And being their when I was drowned in the morbs and helping me out with a gentle nudge and a firm hand. I’ve produced some of my best work this month and December is looking like it’s going to e a LOT more of the same.

November was good to me, Nano was good o me and soon, hopefully, you will benefit from it as well.

May the coming holidays treat you with love and cheer.
