Happy New Year!
Happy New Year
I think it goes without saying that I hope 2022 treated you well and that 2023 treats you better. I also hope it goes without saying that I know for many 2022 did not treat us well and for that you have my sincerest sympathies.
You can view the turning of the year in many ways. As another day, as a moment of renewal, as the inevitable march of time toward death. As with many things it is in the mind that the truth is found, you determine what the turning of the wheel. So I suggest you view it as a turning of the wheel.
Time marches forward and pushes us along whether we wish it to or not. Even after we die what we were will ripple forward, carried by our loved ones, our enemies and strangers. You always mater to the future so use the progress to your own benefit.
It is our purpose to carry the best that we are into the future so that by carrying these burdens we make ourselves and the world about us better. However we also make ourselves better by dropping the things that hold us back and using them as stepping stones to that brighter future we are seeking.
What can you do if you drop your anger and turn it into focus?
Who can you help if you drop your self loathing and turn it into appreciation for those you love?
Who might you aid if you stop spending money on bad habits and instead spend it on worthy charities?
If you drop the weight holding you back will you move fast enough to save a life?
No one knows how incredible you can be if you let go of the things holding you back. You don’t know what you can achieve if you leave just one thing behind you that you no longer need. I don’t know. But I’m willing to wager that you will become magnificent.
Be magnificent my dear readers and may the days that come have more love than hate, more cheer than sorrow and arm you with all you need to overcome the challenges set before you.
Thank you and God bless;
~S. Wallace
