Happy Labor Day!
Happy Labor Day!
At least if you’re in America. If not ,happy Monday, may it be the good start to a good week.
I am thankful for those in my country and all other that fought for things like child labor laws, mandatory breaks and maternity leave.
I am MORE grateful to those who suffered under those horrendous conditions so that I and the generations after me will not suffer that fate.
It’s times like this I remember the phrase “Your regulations are written in blood.” It reminds me that the reason their are regulations that say stuff like “a company must make their employees aware if they are working with hazardous materials” is because companies fought to NOT have to adopt such rulings and in the process innocent people died.
People died while companies were saying, “we’re not responsible for informing our employees that they’re working with radioactive materials.”
And WE don’t have that. issue. We have protections and legal recourse when those protections are violated.
So to those who fought and died on the battlefield of social order and worker’s rights. Thank you and God bless.
